Our Story

A little bit about our company:

In early 1990, three longtime friends and young engineers got together after work to socialize.  It was at this juncture they decided it was time for them to branch out on their own; thus began the thought process that would become Odyssey. Odyssey Engineering, Inc. opened its doors in the spring of 1990 in Sparks, Nevada. Over the course of the next two decades the three partners grew the firm, put in a lot of hours, and developed relationships working to earn the respect of their colleagues and clients. Today Odyssey continues into its thirty second year with Frank Bidart, an original partner, and Gabe Wittler who became a partner in 2015. It now employs sixteen talented engineers, land surveyors and support staff with a combined 166 years of experience.

Due in large part to the management style of our company and our talented staff, Odyssey has the ability to organize our employees in a manner that best suits the individual needs of any number or type of projects. Odyssey has four Nevada Registered Civil Engineers, one of whom hold additional professional licenses covering the states of California and Colorado. Our survey department has two Nevada Professional Land Surveyors and field crews on staff. This company is proud of the fact that all projects are supervised and the majority of the design work and survey analysis is performed by registered professionals in-house. Having both surveying and engineering capabilities allows Odyssey to deliver a well-controlled product throughout the duration of the project.

With strong family roots and a long-standing history here in Nevada, our company has helped to change the landscape of the Truckee Meadows area in a positive manner. Public sector projects include, but are not limited to, the Washoe County School District, the University of Nevada Reno, Washoe County, Carson City, the City of Sparks, and the City of Reno. While private sector projects include, but are not limited to, master planned residential communities throughout our valley. Odyssey has also worked on commerce sites of such places as Legends at Sparks Marina, Northern Nevada Commerce Center, Longley Lane Commerce Center as well as the Northern Nevada Veterans Home and the Nevada Housing Authority Transitional Housing Complex.

Odyssey Engineering prides itself on long standing friendships with its clients, just the same as the friendship it was founded upon. It is this personal connection to both client and project that is the driving force behind a quality product from start to finish. Odyssey Engineering is capable of meeting the needs of both private and public entities and looks forward to working with you.
